Privacy policy
What data we collect on review-cleaner.com, why, for how long, who we share it with, and how to exercise your rights.
This policy explains, in plain language, what we do with the information you give us. The data controller is Clean Review, Inc. (ReviewCleaner), 6261 S. Lewdinger Dr, Homosassa, FL 34446, United States. Questions: laurie@review-cleaner.com.
We serve businesses, many of them in the European Union. We therefore apply the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) to all the data we process, whatever the country of our clients.
What we collect
When you test a profile on the homepage. The Google Business Profile link you paste, the language of the page and the page you came from. If you leave your email under the result, we store that too.
When you open a case on the “Start your case” page. Your profile link, email address, phone number, your answers to the questions (number of reviews, attack in progress or not, type of reviews), the plan you chose and a case reference.
When you pay. Payment happens on Stripe’s own pages. We never see or store your card number. Stripe passes us your email, the amount, the plan and the case reference.
When you email us your case material. Screenshots of the reviews, the context document and anything else you choose to write. This material almost always contains data about third parties: a reviewer’s name, the content of the review, sometimes private messages. We process it only to build and defend your case.
Audience measurement. We use Vercel Web Analytics to know which pages are visited and how far visitors get through the eligibility test and the case form. It sets no cookies and stores nothing that identifies you: it keeps neither your IP address nor any persistent identifier, and it never receives your listing link or your email. It records the page viewed, the country, the device and browser type, the step reached and the plan viewed.
What we do not collect. The site sets no cookies and uses no advertising tools. Your browser keeps your in-progress answers on the “Start your case” page locally, on your device only, so you can resume where you left off. We never ask for your Google password.
Why we use it
| Purpose | Data | Legal basis |
|---|---|---|
| Replying after a test or a contact request | Profile link, email, phone | Pre-contractual steps at your request |
| Opening, handling and following your removal case | All case data, including screenshots | Performance of the contract |
| Invoicing and bookkeeping | Email, amount, reference | Legal obligation |
| Following up if you started a request and did not finish it | Email, phone, profile link | Legitimate interest (one follow-up, you can decline) |
| Defending ourselves in a dispute | Case file and correspondence | Legitimate interest |
We send no newsletter and never sell or rent your data.
How long we keep it
- Eligibility tests and contact requests without a purchase: 12 months after the last exchange, then deletion.
- Client cases (data and material): for the duration of the case, then 3 years after closure, so we can answer a dispute or a new request about the same business.
- Billing data: the statutory retention period for accounting records.
Who we share it with
We use providers that process data on our behalf, under contract and only on our instructions:
- Supabase Inc.: database of requests and cases, hosted in the European Union (Ireland).
- Stripe: online payment.
- Vercel Inc.: site hosting and cookieless audience measurement.
- Our email provider, for the messages we exchange with you.
We pass Google what is needed for your removal requests: the profile link, the reviews concerned and the arguments of the case. Where the procedure justifies it and with your agreement, we may share material with a lawyer.
Clean Review, Inc. is established in the United States. Data stored at Supabase stays in the European Union; data we access from the United States or that our US providers process is covered by the safeguards provided for by the GDPR, notably standard contractual clauses and, for Stripe and Vercel, their Data Privacy Framework certification.
Your rights
You can at any time ask for access to your data, its correction, its deletion, a restriction of processing, its portability, or object to processing based on our legitimate interest. Write to laurie@review-cleaner.com; we answer within one month. We may ask you to confirm your identity, for example by writing from the email address on the case.
If you believe your rights are not respected, you can lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority of your country, in France the CNIL (cnil.fr). Residents of certain US states may have additional rights under their state law; the same email address applies.
Security
Data travels encrypted (HTTPS). The website can only add information to our database, never read it: access is restricted to our team, behind authentication. Case material is shared only with the people working on your case.
Changes
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the current version. For significant changes, we inform clients with an open case by email.
